AEROSMITH Bassist Talks About Tuuring With ZZ TOP; Video Available

April 9, 2009

AEROSMITH's official fan club, AeroForceOne, has uploaded new video footage of bassist Tom Hamilton talking the band's upcoming tour with with longtime friends ZZ TOP. Watch it at this location.

AEROSMITH will hit the road in June for the first time in nearly two years. 40 North American dates with ZZ TOP are currently planned with the possibility of also playing in South America and Japan.

So far the following shows have been announced:

Aug. 23 - Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre Irvine - Irvine, CA
Sep. 01 - Sprint Center - Kansas City, MO
Sep. 08 - XCel Energy Center - St. Paul, MN

AEROSMITH guitarist Joe Perry told The Pulse of Radio he's excited about the co-billing. "To follow them is gonna be a mouthful every night, and I know it's gonna kick us into overdrive," he said. "That sounds like a cliche, but when you play with a band like that we'll be out listening a lot 'cause I love them. I always have...they just got it, man. We got our work cut out for us, and the audience gets the benefit. They really win."

AEROSMITH has decided to delay its next album after Perry had to have corrective surgery on his 2008 knee replacement and singer Steven Tyler subsequently came down with pneumonia.
The guitarist said that AEROSMITH has just a couple of songs in finished shape for the new album, its first since 2004's "Honkin' On Bobo". The group plans to get back to work with producer Brendan O'Brien after the tour.

Perry, meanwhile, is also working in earnest on a new solo album, his follow-up to 2005's Grammy-nominated "Joe Perry".
